The Viscount Who Loved Me / Bee’s Knees Cocktail

After watching Bridgerton on Netflix, I have quickly been working my way through the book series that the show is based on. The second book, which I assume the second season will follow, focuses on the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony. Anthony is much more likeable in the books than in the show, however he still has his faults.

The Viscount Who Loved Me gave off serious Taming of the Shrew vibes, and it was fun to see Anthony get knocked down a couple of notches by a witty and sarcastic woman. Inspired by an innocuous bee sting with unintended consequences, I made a Bee’s Knees cocktail as a reading companion for this book.

Bee’s Knees Cocktail

  • 2oz gin
  • ¾ oz honey syrup*
  • ¾ oz lemon juice

Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until well chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

*For the honey syrup – combine equal parts honey and water in a small saucepan and simmer on the stove until the honey is fully dissolved into the water.
